- It’s official (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/ladder-war-iii/)! For “DBD IX”, it will be The All Night Express vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe in Ladder War 3! ROH officials debated on whether or not to allow each teams demands to battle it out under this stipulation, but it was decided that the violence would never end otherwise. This has proven to be the most dangerous stipulation in ROH’s history, hence why it has only been permitted it on two occasions, but with all four men willing to risk it all to settle their score, it’s difficult to convince them of the dangers…
- In other September 17th news (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/homicide-looks-for-revenge-in-nyc/), a tag team grudge match has been signed with the unlikely pairing of “The Notorious 187” Homicide & Jay Lethal taking on The Embassy’s Tommaso Ciampa & Rhino. The Embassy has had Homicide’s number this year with Ciampa holding two wins over the former ROH World Champ and Rhino seriously injuring his ribs at “Best in the World 2011”. Will the addition of Lethal to this tip the scale in Homicide’s favor? Or will The Embassy’s numbers still prove overwhelming?
- Ring of Honor is excited to be hosting a big weekend of events from one of Florida’s historic wrestling venues, the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL at 800 NE 8th Street on Friday night March 30, 2012 and Saturday afternoon March 31st, 2012. - Speaking of the Video Wire, the last portion with Jimmy Jacobs and Steve Corino was very interesting and we have already received word that Jacobs has contacted ROH officials regarding the match on September 17th in NYC and he is trying to get it changed. We will have more on this next week.
- The meeting between ROH officials yesterday not only covered the Ladder War and booking Jay Lethal for “Death Before Dishonor IX” but a variety of other topics were touched on. One of those topics was ROH adding new talent to the roster throughout 2011 and another confirmation coming out of the meeting is ROH’s return to the St. Louis, MO area which will be announced next week.
- “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett is gearing up for his big match with Shelton Benjamin at “Death Before Dishonor IX” on 9/17. “Listen Dummies,” stated Brutal Bob, “My guy is always training and working hard for his matches and this is no different. No way will Benjamin have Mikey’s number. Mikey has the youth, the strength, the skills, and the trash talking ability to sting Shelton like a bee and have him counting the stars and days of old. The Prodigy is the future of ROH and all of you will see ha ha.” Regardless of what you may think of Brutal Bob and Bennett, “The Prodigy” has been very successful since entering ROH and a win over Benjamin would signify Bennett as a true championship contender.
- “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin has also been training at an intensity level that is unmatched. We are in the process of arranging cameras to film Elgin and his impressive power lifting training. Elgin trains very hard everyday routinely throwing up 500 plus pounds with relative easy. At “Death Before Dishonor IX” on 9/17 his opponent Charlie Haas cannot take this young powerhouse lightly. It should be an intriguing hard hitting match unlike any other on the card.
