- The second show of the CHIKARA southern swing took place in Kingsport, TN. The crowd was similar to Burlington, about 250 or so, and they had to add some seats in for what appeared to be a strong walk up. There were people in attendance from Philly and Atlanta that i spoke with.
1. Archibald Peck def. Chase Owens. Owens is from Tennessee, but Peck was very over here and face the default face due to that. The bottom rope broke during this match, and they worked around it well. Peck is such a great over the top heel, and stole the show with his performance in many ways. Colt Cabunny threatened the crowd the whole match with Dusty Rhodes style elbows.
2. Hallowicked def. Ophidian in a 12 Large Summit Match. Ophidian's losing streak continues here, and he again stormed away from the ring following the loss, similar to Burlington.
3. Team FIST of Icarus, Chuck Taylor, & Johnny Gargano def. the Batiri of Obariyon, Kodama, & Kobald. There were a ton of fun spots with the rule breakers trying to out-cheat each other, but the crowd made the Batiri the faces for the most part.
4. The Colony of Fire Ant & Solider Ant def. Osaka Pro's Atsushi Kotoge & Daisuke Harada. The Colony's Fire Ant & Green Ant traveled to Osaka Pro and lost to Kotoge & Harada recently, so they have some experience working together. Very good tag team match, which the crowd loved. The Osaka pro guys got a great reaction for their performance.
- Green Ant did photos and autographs in the ring for free during intermission. They also replaced the bottom rope finally here, which got a chant from the crowd.
5. Jigsaw def. UltraMantis Black in a 12 Large Tournament Match. A fun match here, crowd loved Mantis and were upset he lost. Just not devious enough.
6. The BDK of Tim Donst, Delirious, Tursas, & Jakob Hammermeier def. Mike Quackenbush, Eddie Kingston, Green Ant, & Sugar Dunkerton. Very fun match, about 20-minutes long. About half way through the match, the middle rope snapped as Tursas went through the ropes. Quackenbush looked horrified, but thankfully no one got hurt. The main angle was Kingston accidentally hitting Quack with the spinning backfist, and after the match Kingston, who was getting heat, blew up at the crowd saying it wasn't his fault that they lost.
7. Sara Del Rey def. Kana This was the main event. The bottom rope was moved up to replace the broken middle rope, so they had no bottom rope here. An excellent match, best of the weekend in my opinion. They worked stiff strikes in with some great submission wrestling, and the crowd was into it big time. Kana was kicking so hard that she lost a kick pad about ¾ of the way through. Del Rey won with the royal butterfly and then a piledriver.
