ROH officials have finalized many details about this year's Survival of the Fittest tournament which goes down in Dayton, OH on November 18th at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. The tournament has always been about members of the ROH roster competing over 6 spots in the finals, and battling it out to earn a future ROH World Title opportunity, and that's not about to change this year. But things will breakdown a bit differently in the qualifying matches. This year 14 men will fight it out in 5 different matches with 6 of athletes surviving to the finals. Here's a look at how this year's SOTF will be contested:
3 Singles Matches
1 Tag Team Match (Both members of the winning team will advance)
1 Four Corner Survival
The 6 winners will all advance to the elimination final to see who will earn a future shot at the ROH World Title!
We already know that Andy "Right Leg" Ridge will compete in a qualifier after his victory over Grizzly Redwood during the "Death Before Dishonor IX" pre-show, and we can now announce that the 2nd man to earn a spot in "Survival of the Fittest 2011" is last year's winner, and the only man to successfully parlay his victory into a championship, "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards!
In addition to the SOTF tournament, we can also announce that their will be two non-tournament matches to round out the event, so keep an on ROHWrestling.com for the announcement of those two matches as well as the other 12 men who will compete in the SOTF qualifiers. Tickets for ROH's highly anticipated return to Dayton can be found right here!
